These hourly consultations include expert, personalized guidance for filmmakers seeking traditional and/or alternative distribution for their films. Sessions can be geared toward topics of your choosing, but common areas of conversation and advice include mapping core audiences, identifying strong partners, maximizing festival potential, assessing sales and distribution offers, and pitching and budgeting for distribution, social impact and audience engagement.

As a consulting producer, I support film teams as all stages of production, from research and development, to story consulting, to post-production budgeting and distribution planning. Unlike hourly consultations, my producing work establishes a long-term, collaborative relationship with the film’s core creative team over the course of the project, with a specific eye toward complementing a film team’s narrative and creative ambitions with meaningful distribution, impact and audience development planning.

Grant writing collaborations include working together to assess your potential for particular grants, to shape the narrative of your application, and to ensure that your final submission is clear, compelling and correct. Over the last decade, I’ve helped to shepherd dozens of successful applications to a wide range of film-aligned funders, including Chicken & Egg Films, The Ford Foundation, The LEF Foundation, ITVS, the Pere Lorentz Documentary Fund, the Soros Justice Fellowship, and more.

Discussion and action guides are critical tools for connecting films to advocacy partners, educators, policymakers and grassroots activists. This service delivers film teams a targeted, useful and beautiful guide or suite of resources. Examples below!
